Just as a new bride and groom vow to be together for the rest of their lives under all joyful and sorrowful conditions, to know Christ in His death and resurrection is the vow of loyalty that joins a believer to Christ. There is no greater intimacy to be found than that which comes as we die and rise in Him each day. For as we do, we come to know the very heart of Christ and eventually His heart becomes ours. The more we love Him, the less we seek short cuts and are willing to walk the narrow path, because the pleasure of knowing Jesus is to know what makes Him laugh and weep. So to embrace and seek Christ in all seasons of growth is the beginning of intimate worship.
Lord, increase the joy of my desire for You that inĀ all circumstancesĀ I would give You thanks and praise.
